In the subfamily of the actual blues, that the Silver-studded Blue belongs to, the top of the wings of males mostly are blue, whereas on females, they always are brown. On the wings of the male Silver-studded Blue, the blue area is framed by a brown margin, that, towards the outer ends, may show faded orange spots. The latter often are not visible at all. Each wing is framed by a band of white fur. The genders mostly differ in the colors and thus can easily be told apart. |
