After this,
she makes the base: a cylindrical
cup made of
light colored silk, to which she adds collar of brown silk. The collar
is the base of the wall, that she is going to pull further up.
The different colors of the silk suggest that the silk is of different chemical composition and therefore of different physical behaviour. The (??) Wespenspinne apparently is able to produce parts of a different quality in the cocoon she is making. |
