This is not a flying egg. This is Misumena vatia in the perspective as insects see it when they intend to land on a flower. Although the crab spider can clearly be recognized, it successfully fails to be realized as a danger by approaching insects. Presumably this is due to its bizarre position: It resembles a blossom with its anthers (? pollen stems) sticking out. Misumena vatia is widespread and common on meadows, in the vegetation of forest edges and in gardens. |
