The World of MinibeastsThe Parent Bug: The First Move |
The female bug does not not only defend her youngsters, but also helps to move the family to a different place. |
The path from one leaf to another may be long and dangerous for young larvae, and mum is watchful to keep her bugs in a row. The young leave scent marks behind on their way, so those following know where to go. Beside, they keep in touch when moving, using their tentacles. The female keeps walking up and down the twig to ensure that each of the young is on the right path. |
