As in other owlets, the body of the ? owlet is furry. It wears cascades of hair brushes on its back, that can be recognized on this portrait picture more clearly than in the total view. At the bottom, there is the proboscis of the moth. On its left and right at the top, the darker eyes can be recognized. Above them, the antennae extend. Along the rising back, the hair brushes build up. Between May and September, the moths produce two generations per year. In higher altitudes, where the warm periods are shorter, conditions are sufficient to produce a single generation only. |
