The World of Minibeasts

Beetles in Bags: Patience

The leaf lowering....

... the base remaining upright.

Further and further the separated part lowers with the female sitting on it. On the right, there is a view from the top.

The tips bend inwards.

The base of the leaf is healthy and well provided with water and salts. It is full of tension and spreads.

The separated section has wilted and hangs on the hurt part of the central vein. Once in a while, the female climbs on the different sections to check how the future home for her offspring develops.

At last, the cut section adopts the anticipated shape: The three tips bend inward and are ready to be folded and rolled.
